Finding a Local History Society


Increasing numbers of local societies are establishing their own websites as a method of contacting existing and potential members. We have a long list of examples from amongst our society members in our links section, but cannot possibly include them all.If you are looking for a group near you, start by putting the village or community name plus 'local history' into your search engine. Some sites, particularly those based on general community websites, have very long and complicated addresses, and this can be a simple way of finding them.
